Ok I just got a 70 f100 sport custom, automatic, 360. needs a new battery. whats do i need to look for cold crank amps? whats a good #. sec Ive been looking into the fluids like tranny fluid, im use to the newer cars, what weight, type. do i need something thicker than a newer truck uses. also i was looking for a good id pic of whats what under the hood. ive looking but my time on here is limited right now thanks for your time.

i dotn know abotu cranking amps. but the battery group size is 24F.
the trans fluid is TYPE F

If your trans. has never been overhauled use type"F" only. If the truck is all stock (no high amp. electrical draws) like mine I have a 800 cold cranking amp battery and it works fine. If you can afford it there are many options in batteries avaible.Where I live I pay more att. to hot cranking amps, as it rarely gets down to freezing but gets near 100 in summer.
