79 ford 3/4 ton gearbox into 1968 f250 highboy?

is this the "bolt in" gear box that i need to convert my 68 highboy into ps?

yes and no. that is a 2wd box. you can see the hose locations are different than the 4wd box. if yours has the bolts in the same place it will work. but your ps hoses will rub the inner fender. and you will need to cut out the inner fender to make them clear.

will it steer backwards? like if i used a 1969 2wd gearbox?

the seller told me that it is off a 4wd 79 , also notice the box is mounted on the inside of his frame vs yours being on the outside? will this make a difference?

does yours mount on the inside or outside? the one in the picture is one i am going to buy. the one on my truck is a 2wd version. it looks similar to the one in your picture but it also moutns on the outside fo the frame. so mine is a true 2wd box. i dont think it would steer backward though.

mine (manual box) mounts on the inside of the frame, this one is one a 1979 f25 4x4 and mounts on the inside of the frame also, it is hooked up and everything,
