when you flip the rear axle do you experience any bottoming out on the frame? i heard you have to have a c notch for that.
also is it completly neccesary to have the ibeams bent right away or can it wait a while? right now i have no income so what ever i do has to be free.

I drove mine around with cut springs for a couple years. handles fine. people look at you funny though. the tires last longer than people give credit for as long as your toe-in is set right

I was just wondering if anyone noticed the hood on the green shorty. It has a slope to it.

I've had mine lowered like this since may, its been fine. As long as you take it easy over bumps, You'll be ok. As someone else said, the tires dont wear THAT fast. In fact, I've noticed barely any wear in mine. It took about 2 days to do mine. I will say that the ride is pretty harsh, and im pretty much sittingin my bumpstops in the front. I dont really care though. Mines getting bagged soon.

About the green truck's hood: I read the article on a magazine's website. It was modified alot. They call it pie cutting. The url is

http://www.classictrucks.com/features/0 ... index.html

It tells alot more about it.

I like the scallops on the hood. I may (undecided as of yet) do that on my truck (pictured below).

Figured I might as well jump in here(finally got some shots of it I found worthy of this thread). Mine ain't slammed, layin rockers or even in the weeds, but I did it on a zero cost budget and did the work my self. It'll have that rat rod look (hopefully by dec). The front is cut nearly 2 whole coils(still need to get the axles bent). And the rear has the front hanger inversion(the full flip as ezernut calls it)

this was just after the flip with the bed rest there for refernce point(considering moving fenders down an inch or so when I finally get around to doing bed)

before just for reference

And finally several years back when she was driven daily

So, at about 0500 today, I cracked a beer and added scallops to my hood. I am still split on how I feel about them. I like them, but I am unsure as to if they may be too much. Oh well, like I said, I like them.

me + beer + spray paint = scallops
