Windshield washer hoses

Post by 91Bear »

OK, I ordered a hose kit from Dennis Carpenter. It came with a large diameter hose and two small ones. I figured the large diameter hose went from the tank to the tee and the small diameter hoses went to the squirters. The larger hose is too short to reach from the tee to the tank.

Am I doing something wrong?

Quite a bit too short. Since my truck is a 1969, I figure that I have the 68-70 style.

The kit is C7TZ-17543-KIT and it says it fits 67-79.

im guessing you have F on this page as your tank. in the picture right above that. is the 70-79 tank and position of the tank. the 67 and 68-70 tanks sit further forward than the 70-72 tanks. my guessis even thoguth the kit is a 67 part numebr. that the hose was cut shorter for the 70-72 tank position. so the hose is wrong for your truck and it is thier fault.

No biggie just run to the parts store and you can get the right hose cut to length, thats what I did when I got my washer up and running.

Yeah, it just stinks that I ordered the hose kit and it doesn't work. I don't want to send it back because I need the tee. The big hose is too short and the other hoses are too long. I'll just get it at the parts store because I probably need a new PCV valve anyway. I wonder if the parts store would have the clips that hold the hoses down. Mine are gone.

I just kept the kit and bought a longer hose from the parts store. Got a PCV valve too. Now I need another hose from the PCV to the air cleaner. Might as well replace all the hoses while I am at it. The radiator needs a new overflow hose too.

5/8" heater hose will work for the PCV. That's what I use.

Any idea where I can get the clips that hold down the washer hoses along the cowl?

Your PCV valve needs to go to a vacuum source such as the main port on the side of the carb or back of the intake. The filtered side goes to the air cleaner.
