Re: Extra Fuel Tank

Post by Wolf0r »

I wish that I would have checked here first. I just bought a 65 mustang 16gallon tank for my 72. I made a similar surround for it out of 1" bix tubing and got it slid in the frame. I have had this truck apart for a while now gathering parts and finding spare time to work on it. I have a stock 87 crown vicky engine/and trans in it now. The ECU and wiring will be no problem for me but I will be asking a few questions later. Heres some FordPorN. :D

The link isn't working... even if I take out the IP address.

BigEd wrote:My Camper Special does not have a frame tank, only an in cab. The sales literature does not show a frame tank as standard on any model, it was strictly an option according to Ford. Keith has the sales brochures posted on this site and they do not say anything about the frame tank except they are optional. The CS was always an option, there was not a time from 67-72 when it was not offered. Also, teh Sport Custom did not come with a frame tank standard either from what Keiths stuff says. We have seen this on this site before, the CS option did not include a lot of things that people say it did. You really should read the brochures and see what was actually included. It wasn't as much as many assume. Ed
This is true, my 69 is a Camper Special and it does NOT have: in frame tank, front disc brakes, anti-sway bar, 390 (It does now, but stock with 360), or even auto-pilot. Some people see a truck or two with an option and assume they must all be that way. :2cents:
