What I posted is about all I got done so far but hopefully it wll help people who want to transplant one good whole panel to another cab. Yes, it can be done. I now have 3 cabs where one has a crappy bottom, one has a crappy top and one is in between. So now I need to figure out what goes onto what. I do know that I need a good top on the cab with the good bottom so Ill go this route for most of it but Ill still need to graft two areas and butt weld. I dont have a clue how to match profiles to graft two complex shapes together. Once I get my frame painted and up on wheels again Ill pick this up next spring probably. First I need an air comp to sandblast and a welder to do the rest. I put that on my list for Santa.

I will be trying to transplant the firewall, lower front sides and the rockers as 1 piece..floor pans are fine... (then the kick panels all rusted inside so should able then to get to those with the front mess off before re-install) I think the hardest part will be that flange at the cowl...

well upon further looking, looks like the cowl is also rusted out in spots on the front... so now looks like the whole front piece ...might be easier then trying to seperate the cowl?? So now if I need to do the cowl and all the stuff in the front, including the rocker panels in one piece where would be the best to seperate it.. need the kick panels also just potentially not the floor pans.

the cowl shave a joint running up the windshield pillar. and at the dahs and windshield line is the other place it is hooked. but it doesnt really have to come away from the dash you can pull the whole dash with it.

so I could pull it at the front window pillar and then just the floor pan area?? Is the kick panels connected to the front area??

the kick panel and bulkhead wil come off in one section if you want them to. once the floor is cut away and some other stuff.

doesnt sound to bad then, so is there an existing seam on the window pillar that would be the spot to seperate it or does it matter?

there is a pillar seem about 1 1/2 - 2 inches up from the cowl. but getting it apart might be hard

Very hard actually. Its not a seam just an offset in the pillar where the cowl fits over. You could cut the pillar off there and weld two pieces together.

if you still have this cab apart could you take a picture straight down inside of the vent area on both side where the cowl came off at?

Heres the passengers side. I think this is what you mean. I cant get to the cab right now but the driver side is similar.
