302 rebuild

Post by bigredball90 »

My brakes are getting done this week and next in line is the motor. Im on a budget (1000+-) and will probably be doing the motor myself with a friend to help me. I want to increase the hp a little was thinking an rv cam and raising the compression a little bit. Im not going to be doing forced induction or nitrous on this motor so im not going real big on the bottom end. So far my idea was to be able to rev it up higher than stock and... My tranny is a recently rebuilt t5 from a 90 mustang gt as well. Im not sure how high on the compression I want to go but definitely more than stock. Any ideas are welcome. And were are some good places to order rebuild kits from?

You can buy stock 302's on ebay for like 1600 dollars. Or you can send yours out for like 1800 with full rebuild.
