I believe that style was used in FE powered cars with a rear sump oil pan.
I'd hit the wrecking yards and look at full sized cars like Galaxies and even possibly Mercs that were FE equipped.
Good luck...

would the dip stick from at 360 4x4 fe truck work? they were rear sumps. The one on my 74 4x4 goes right into the side of the pan.
I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.

Hello Haayjay,

Milodon makes a rear-sump pan with a dipstick hole in the side, just like you're describing. They also make a dipstick (part number 22034), but I'm not sure whether the dipstick they make is designed to accommodate their front sump pan or the rear sump pan. If you're curious about this you could call and ask, although the price on part 22034 is about $56.

They also make a universal 17" dipstick. This is probably not what you want, but it's possible that they recommend folks use this on the rear-sump FE pans.

I'm using a Lokar ED-5012 on my front-sump FE. Maybe Lokar makes a dipstick for the rear-sump too; you could give them a call if you're interested.

In case you're curious to see the ED-5012, here's my thread about it:
