will a non-PB disc master bolt on to my PB booster?

I've got a 77 parts truck that does not have Power Brakes, but it does have Disc Brakes. I want to put the Disc Brakes on my 71, but I want to make sure that the non-Power Brakes Master will bolt on to my Power Brakes Booster.

yes it will bolt right up. its just like add a booster to your old master. it works both ways. it will fit.

Great! Looks like I will be getting disc brakes and Ibeams that haven't been fubar'd by a shop!

Yes, the main reason I'm swapping to disc brakes is because the shop I had replace my king pins that are on my truck right now, really screwed them up.

Well for one, they used the plastic inserts when I told them to use bronze, second, they screwed up the threads on the caps so bad that they epoxied on the caps! So I haven't actually seen the inside, but I don't really want to.

Here is how I know it is the king pins that are causing me slop in the steering:

When I bought my 71 it has about 60 degrees of slop in the wheel.
I put on a new rag joint and new steering linkages. That brought it down to about 45 degrees (still too much for my wife to drive)
I bought a new box from autozone. That didn't help at all even though I could see that the rag joint was moving and the pitman arm wasn't (even after adjustment)
Then I took my old box and rebuilt it myself (torqed everything the right way and had to build some specials tools to do so).
That brought it down to about 15-20 degrees of slop.

Then I bought a 77 parts truck. It was really bad! The rag joint was gone! So I replaced it. That helped a bunch but then I realized that the box was not tight to the frame. I fixed that and that 77 parts truck drove better than any old truck I have ever driven. Nice and tight steering with zero wanding on the road at any speed! I love it but the truck was junk!

So I figured that the 77 box must be better than my 71 box that I rebuilt. So I swapped boxes. NOPE! The 77 still drove perfect and the 71 still had 15-20 degrees of slop in the wheel. That is when I checked the slop in the king pins! YEP! Those king pins only had about 10k miles on them and they were bad. So, I'm going to swap on the 77 disc brakes and get nice tight king pins at the same time. If my 71 was steering right, I wouldn't mess with the disc brake swap. I'm mostly doing it to get good steering! I can't wait!

those idiots. i bet they tore up the threads inside the spindle not the top nuts. but who knows until you take it apart to see. the plastic bushings is no excuse to not get right.
