Drove truck home! Started it a couple of times and let it set for 4 weeks. Wen't to start it and it wouldn't even try to start.
Changed plugs, condesor points, coil distributor cap and plug wires. Still won't even try to start. Plenty of gas and weak spark at plugs. Checked dwell everything ok. Tried to hot wire from batt. to coil woudn't start. replaced battery. repaired
breaks in harness from firewall to coil. Voltage still fluctuating at coil.

The voltage fluctuation at the coil is normal.
You should get a fluctuation each time the points open and close.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak
That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!! ![Thumbs up ](./images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif)

I've seen badly flooded engines wash the oil off the cylinder walls.
Do a compression test if they're all low a shot of oil in the plug holes will bring them back.
While you're doing a compression test, you can check the timing with a light too

The voltage will fluctuate at the coil when cranking because the points open and close.
How did it run before you parked it?

Finally figured it out. My brother in law bought the truck and drove it home.
He then proceded to remove the plug wires. Apparently the previous owner set the dist. in one cog off and compensated by moving the plug wires around 1 position on the dist cap.
