Oil pressure

Post by 72bumbee »

How does one check oil pressure on a 360? I would like to know that I have proper oil flow without having to trust the guage. (I am certain it is buggy anyway)
The motor runs hot (i dunno how hot) but I just need a way to determine if it is a bad water flow or bad oil pressure issue
Thanks

You can put a manual oil gauge in, it hooks up where the oil filter is. Take out the old sending unit and a new oil guage should have the fitting to adapt the new oil line. its pretty easy once you look at it. I would also put in a manual temp gauge so you know exactly how hot you are running, you may be running normal and the gauge reads high. As far as checking water flow, engine is warmed up you should be able to see water flowing in the radiator when the cap is removed.

Heres a pic of mine as I was tearing it apart. I had disconnected the line, but you can see the fitting next to the oil filter.
