Holley 1850

Post by JMcTurnan »

So I bought a holley 1850, it has an electric choke. Which technically its not an 1850 anymore. But theres a little red tab on the inside of the choke. And it messes with it, when I go to start it, it won't start. So I have to flip that tab up, and set the choke down. Then theres a little thing called i think a running idle, or driving idle screw right by there. Anyone know how to adjust these things? Because I messed with it and now my truck won't start right. =/

Who converted the 1850 to electric choke and did they use the correct Holley kit?

IIRC there is a vacumme port htat is plugged and must be unplugged to enable the vaccume pull off.

The "red tab" is the fast idle cam, it should engauge itself if you press the gas pedal twice to the floor and let it up slowly.

You can adjust the chokes engagement with the plastic cover by losening the three bolts and turning it a little, although I find that stock is usually pretty close.

Take a look at this and see if it helps.

I didn't, I bought it like that, but I figured out how to adjust it. But so far it works right now, my idle works now. Truck runs smoother, Ill know for sure when It gets a cold start. Thanks, Justin
