Hi,
I am at the completion of my brake job. I have replaced the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses, shoes, springs and hardware. I have repacked the front bearings cleaned and painted the backing plates, hubs and replaced a rear seal. I am now trying to choose the Drums I will put on. Please feel free to give me any insite you may have.
My question is: What is the difference between composite drums and cast drums?

Re: Drums Cast vs Composite
28 views so far and not one answer. Hmm?
Let me rephrase the question.
Is there a difference in quality?
Does either last longer?
Is there a difference in the way they handle friction and heat?
Is one more durable than the other?
Is there a difference in stopping ability?

Re: Drums Cast vs Composite
Composite is definitely better.
Higher quality, longer life, better stopping power, better heat dissipation.
With all of this comes a price.
Unless you're going to be running Nascar races or LeMans, probably not worth the money...

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak
