harmonic balancer and sleeve

Post by old ford guy »

when i took the harmonic balancer off my truck there was a key in the groove--- i also noticed that the spacer was grooved and the crank was grooved all the way back should there have been a key in the sleeve also or should the key have been longer to fit both or is no key necessary with the sleeve

there should be a key in that grove. it fits for both the sleeve and the balancer.

There is no key necessary for the spacer.

There should be a key for the timing gear and one for the harmonic balancer.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That's not an oil leak :nono: That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!
