Carburetor Question for 67 F100
I installed a holley carb yesterday and the old carb had to vaccuum hoses on the left side in the front and the rear. The front hose was attached, the rear there was no way to attach it. Should I have both hoses come together as on or should I just leave it the way it is. Here is a picture of the rear hose attachment? What is that rear hose attachment called. Some let me know the proper terms please. The first pic is the rear hose that was attached to the 1st carb. Attached are the pictures just copy and paste. Thanks and I will be waiting.

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
I would cap off the rear vac port on the carb, looks like the vacuume line is already has a T fitting from the intake, also cap the loose vacuume hose that isn't going anywhere if you don't you will have a vacuume leak. One of the 2 ports on your carb is fulltime vacuume (the rear one) and front one is timed vacuume, probalbly going to the distributer. I don't know what that canister is on the rear of the intake, maybe someone will chime in. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

are you talking about that metal line with the vacuum hose on it? that is for the transmission modulator. can be plugged into the vacuum tree with no problems.

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
I think he's talking about the large "canister" at the rear of the intake, near the firewall.
My first thought was that it was an EGR valve, but Ford put them on the carb spacer plate, and that wasn't until '75.
Can you get better pics?

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
That's part of the air injection. It's some kind of actuator for the smog pump. My '67 still had all that cr*p on it too. Have some pictures of it somewhere around here.
BTW, that's not a Holl*y, it's a Motorcraft unless Holl*y's making clones now.

Took me a bit, but I found my pics. Here's how it should look, but if it was me I'd take all the smog junk out as long as you live in an area that doesn't emission test vehicles this old:

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
The old carburetor that I had in there was a motorcraft but I did replace it with Holley. I will get better pictures tomorrow. Thank you for the insight on everything. They do not test anymore for smog so I will take that smog cr*p off. I will send pictures tomorrow.

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
I got everything running. I replaced the ignition switch, the starter solenoid, and even took the carburetor back to get another one because holley said that the pin was broke. I was having issues with starting the truck because I need a new steering column. I have to put the ignition to start and then put the truck between park and reverse to get it started. Anyway after all that it started, and then I turned it off and it didn't want to turn off. It sounded like it wanted to keep starting. I pulled the negative cable and it turned off. I have since turned the truck on and have driven it. I think that it is due to me turning it all the way to ACC instead of just turning it off. Well at least that's what I hope happened.

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
This doesn't address FordToughF100s question about vaccum lines, but his pictures did create a question of mine. I have a 1967 F100 and when I purchased it the engine in it was a straight six not a V8. His pictures look like a V8 engine. Unless FordToughF100 replaced the engine. Or could the F100s be ordered with different engines?
What was the stock engine in a new 1967 Ford F100?
Thanks All

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
The 352 FE V8 was the most common engine for the '67s I believe, but yes, the inline 6 was an option.

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
it sounds like the ignition switch was bad. the starter relay is going bad. or ther might be a wire crossed. giving power to the coil full time.
the column adjustment can be made under the dash at the bottom of the column. there is a neutral saftey swithc under there with two screws for the adjustment. you put it in park lossen the two screws. move the switch one way or the other so the switch gets pushed to the right just a little. it sounds like the switch may be too far to the right by just a hair.

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
My Truck has a 390 in it but I didn't know that the inline 6 was an option for that year. I replaced the ignition switch and the coil, and when I had an episode with the starter not wanting to stop, and me having to pull the battery cable for it to stop, was the starter. I took it to autozone and their was no power to it, the screen said fail. They took a new starter and that thing spun like a mofo on their tester. Has anyone ever seen the size of the starter, its the size of a peewee football. AS for the pictures retriever47 those aren't mine they are tougholdford's. Tougholdford you were right I need to take out that smog mechanism that you were talking about. I want to get my airconditioner going, I think that's next. There are so many possibilities to this truck it is great. I thank you all for the insight and I will post pics of my engine when I get a chance.
Fordman, I am going to work on my switch next on the column.

Re: Carburetor Question for 67 F100
Tougholdford,
I was just told by the shop that it is a motorcraft. I guess Kragen has them remanufactured by Holley and distributes them that way. I thought I was buying a Holley carb. LOL
