Power Brakes...request for measurements

Post by deyomatic »

I've been following this forum for a few days and it appears that the most common upgrade is the power booster from a 68-72 F100. From my online search, it appears that this is the most likely candidate for my '60 F100 (you know, one of the "ugly" ones that grow on you). I'm wondering if someone can take a couple of measurements for me:

How far the firewall bracket props the booster from the firewall, I guess you'd call that the depth.
Length of the brake pedal pushrod from the firewall to where it attaches to the pedal.
Also, are all of these trucks equipped with drums in the front from the factory? I plan on retaining my front drums.

Thanks so much.

Thanks Fordman,
I just ordered a new booster and master online (for a 1969) and I'm thinking I'll have to make some kind of adapter or bracket If it's too long I guess I can always shim it. The one I currently have, the stocker for 1960, is about 5" from the firewall to the end of the rod...so it looks a lot shorter. I guess I'll have to put my Yankee Ingenuity to the test.

Thanks.
