removing/adding leaf springs

the leaf springs on our trucks have those little brackets that are suppose to hold the spring packs together. if you remove or add one leaf and the little bracket will no longer fit can you get smaller or larger ones to put back in place of the old ones? how does that work? surely you dont want to leave them off. they like to move around.

You can just replace those leaf spring clamps with aftermarket pieces like these:
