Do you mind me asking what kind of horse power you are pushing, flywheel or to the wheels?

Re: My '69 at the track
13.4 for a heavy truck like that is very respectable and even to this day you would flat out win against a new GT (stock) they get in the high 13's right??? that truck is sweet...

Re: My '69 at the track
I was curious on the horsepower to get an idea of what my truck might run.

Re: My '69 at the track
I'd put it at 450hp? Give or take. It's a pretty stock 428CJ motor with good cam.

Re: My '69 at the track
I like the way it left the line. Do you happen to know the weight on it? My windsor is supposed to be around 600hp at the flywheel but there is no way mine would leave the line that hard.

Re: My '69 at the track
If I recall, years ago I put it on a truck scale: 4080#
The 60ft still wasn't all that great(1.9?).
The ladder bars really plant the tires hard, and if I had put real good slicks it might have done a bit better. It still bounces a bit(loads/unloads the tires). At least it doesn't wheelhop like it used to.

Re: My '69 at the track
That's a nice truck. I love to see ford trucks at the track. What rpm are you launching at? Your 60ft seems a bit off for having 4.56s, ladder bars and slicks. Not trying to be rude, im just saying Would you mind sharing more info about your suspension?

Re: My '69 at the track
The suspension is far from optimum. It tries to plant the rear tires, but the 20+yr old slicks I was running were far from sticky. The truck still sits as it did back in 1992, minus the tunnelwedge 2x4 intake. I put the medium riser 2x4 intake back on it as I needed the intake for my race car.
I was leaving about 3000 rpm.
