Hello everyone,
I am in the market to get the dream beams for my truck at the end of this month and was wondering if getting the beams would hinder swapping out the front drums for disc at a later date or would it work fine. Thanks

p.s. I also got a quote from a shop to re-arch my leafs and they said they would recommend adding a leaf and parts and labor would run about 625 that seems high to me. All I want are the leafs rearched with new bushings. pretty simple to me

sounds like you want to switch to discs later on? much easier to do it now. you will need ibeams specifically for discs. I think there are a few exceptions, but it will be easiest to just tackle it all at once. also i believe the ones you will want are 75-79. depends on what year truck you get the brakes from. Im sure there are details im missing, im sure someone knows more than whats been said and they will pop in and say somethin
So do not get the beams for a 68, get them for (lets make a safe bet) a 75 F100 and also the disc brake off a 75 and it then will all bolt up. Wow this truck is costing me more than I anticipated. Any more input would be great, thanks guys.

This sucks cause I just found a swap for the rear on ebay for 475. and if I want the beams and disc at a later date then I should just wait because the beams are different. I just replaced every brake component on that dang truck. and now i'm wanting disc all the way around so looks like I will have to allocate some money for a new disc swap front and rear.

I always start out with the thought of an upgrade that will only cost me $500 and then by the time I finish adding up all the parts and pieces I end up quadruplizing my budget... I need to allocate some fundage too!!! Patience is a virtue...but I don't got it.
