according to the ad not useless. they gutted the interior so there's lots of room. those pesky seats and dash/steering column take up a lot of room.

you can haul stuff you want to keep out of the weather like your model airplanes. :D Anyone on here fly R/C planes?

Even I wouldn't think of that. I guess that would work for the long trips with lots of people!

i seen someone do that to a full sized van. they cut it off right behind the drivers seat and put a piece of sheet metal over the whole hole that was left and then put a hitch on it. i thought it was a geat idea at the time. and it looked good too.

Now that makes good sense-plenty of space, easy access doors, etc. :D

Not for several years. Almost a decade now, I suppose. :(
Wanna guess what the inspiration for my user name was?
That would be pretty cool, though. I would like to find a bumpside bed topper. Fiberglass, not aluminum. I saw one in a parts yard in Omaha once. I had teh van with me, though, so no way to get it home. By the time I managed to get back up to Omaha with the truck, the whole truck and all was gone. It even had a 'dent' for the cargo light!

Wouldn't that be pretty badly imbalanced though? You'd have an awful lot of load on the hitch tongue. to support the weight of the trailer. Granted, the heaviest part of the vehicle is gone, but I'd still think you'd be supporting maybe 1,000 - 1,500 lbs on the hitch.

i bet it doesnt weigh too much actually. as long as they pulled all of the interior there wouldnt be much left of it. no motor, tranny, seats, dash, just a shell.
