Will a 1980 F100 steering wheel fit a 1972 F100?

Post by pickly »

Does anyone know if a 1980 F100 steering wheel fit a 1972 F100?
I think mine has a 1970-71 steering wheel (three spoke) instead of the original so i'm looking to replace it with something similar to the original.

thanks,

I know they are the same from 1971 to 77', but i'm not sure about an 80.

If I remeber right, a 80's style steering wheel was on my 62' ford F-250.

yes and no here is a comparison pic of the 79 vs the 80 steering wheels. they are larger around in the centers. the 77-79 steering wheel sare larger around than the 61-77 wheels also. so you willneed to stick to a 61-77 wheel depending on what steerign column you will use in your truck. i have more pics but they are too big. if you want to see them post and i can send them through photobucket and link them back here.

the bottom wheel is the 1980's wheel. you can see how large the center is vs the 70's wheel. i am unsure what year the other wheel is right now.

I was ebay sold a 1980's wheel by mistake advertized as a 71-72 wheel. I tried to make it work on my 71 and it was a no go. I did not like the 80's wheel either. Too small in a bump, doesn't look or feel right at all.
