On my 67 F250 I have found that I have the 2"x12 1/8" rear drum. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the rear drums completely over to the 2 1/2"x12" drums? Reason I ask is due to the cost of the smaller size it more then double for new drums, shoes and such. If I can't change over then I am proabably going to do the rear disc kit since it will be about the same in the long run, maybe a little bit more expensive.
Second question, if I do go disc/disc can I use the orginal dist. block that was used for the drum/drum set up from factory? TIA, Bill

i would think you might be able to do this if you swapped everything. drums shoes and all of that. i also think you woul dneed a porportioning vavle to go with all discs all the way around. but i'm unsure on that.

I am only guessing, but I think that if you changed to the larger size drums and shoes you could install them without any modifications. In the interest of saving money, I doubt that Ford used completely different backing plates, hubs, etc. for the larger breaks. Both brake options are on the same Dana 60 axle right? If you have a good parts guy that will let you return the stuff if it doesn't work for you, you should try it.
