Steering wheel question

Post by Bobaloo2 »

Probably been thru this before, but, what FORD steering wheels will fit my 67 F-100? I really want to use an older 51 Ford car deluxe wheel if possible.
Thanks Bob

You'd likely just have to try fitting it to see if the splines are same size. Watch your diameter. If your truck is manual steering, you need to stay with one around the same size (which I guess a '51 should be) to have same leverage in wrestling into parking spaces. I have power steering and installed one of the smaller diameter newer wheels (Grant GT) and felt it looked foolish in and old truck and made it twitchier. I put back on the stock larger wheel and to me, they just look better and work better. But, an older (and cooler possibly) wheel in similar diameter would be pretty slick I bet.

i think your only problem would be the out size of the older wheel. it is larger than the newer column in the trucks. plus maybe the tss auto turn off detent may not work right or fit with our columns.
