Power steering fluid leaking bad...

Post by Joe Kriston »

....And I mean bad...'69 3/4 ton....Right at the bottom where it connects to the little (Pittman?) arm where it connects to the tie-rod end...I mean it was flowing out of there when my son was turning the steering wheel and I was watching from underneath...Please,somebody give me some good news...like it's only a blown fuse or something....

Sounds like the seal went south on ya.

Not sure how to fix but I believe it is something money can easily fix.

You can get seal kits for it. Well I know you can if it is the Ford/Saginaw gear.

Replacing the seal is actually pretty easy...it's getting the Pitman arm off that's a PIA. You'll need a LARGE puller and possibly a little heat (but be careful here!).
