more silly lowering questions, this time about the rear end.

Post by wordforge »

hey all,

okay I've got some dumb questions, so please bear with me.

1. I'd like to drop the front of my bump with some DJM beams and i'm wondering what spring/shock combo I need?

2. I'm putting a flatbed on the back, because i'll be hauling a 600 pound drag bike plus gear (another couple hundred pounds). I'd like the back to be lower but not sacrifice load capacity. so should I look for a specific leaf setup or will a flipped setup work?

3. I've heard people say that if you lower the front with DJM beams you need to put shorter shocks on the back, is this true?

thanks in advance

Just get the djm shackle and hanger kit and lowered shocks for the rear, the front shocks will stay factory no need for new front shocks.
You can pay more but you cant buy better.

:yt: i think if you lower it that much you will have a problem with the tire hitting the bottom of your flatbed. depends on the tires i guess.

kinda kills the whole "flat" bed but you could put raises wheel tubs so the tires clear. :2cents:

I was thinking about using a raised flatbed so that I could fit things like belly boxes around the sides. Maybe I could fit the tubs up in the sides like that.

Thanks for the input Marz, I don't think I want to go as low as you. but your truck is a real inspiration for me to get off my arse and get to work.
