I've heard reports of some who have done that, but I haven't seen pics. I did take some measurements at one time and it certainly appeared to me that it would bolt on just fine, but I haven't tried it yet. The bolt holes in the hoods for the hinges are almost exactly the same, not enough to cause any problems there, though you WOULD have to install the later-style latch onto the core support.
Give it a try and let us know what you find out.
