Another Disc Brake Question

Post by OldNo7 »

67 F250 with drum/drum
Would like to convert to disc in front, I have read all the good articles here.
Simply don't have the time to search out donor vehicles, junk yards etc.
Who sells a quality conversion kit for this truck, without going to 5 lug???

I don't think kits are available for an F250. I've never seen one, anyway.
Keep an eye on the Parts for Sale forum, or post a request in the Parts Wanted forum.

No conversion kit that I know of.

Post an ad in the parts wanted section, someone may have some available.

Heres how I just did my 67 F-250. You need to get spindles and all other hardware for a 68-72 F-250 with disc brakes. The spindles will go right up to your old I-beams with a new king pin kit. The 67 drum spindles won't work since the spindle diameter is too small. You can get remanufactured calipers (core needed), pads, rotors, wheel bearings, ect. for about $200. Whole conversion will cost about $300 depending on how much you have to pay for the old setup, but all of it would be new.

Part of the swap I haven't gotten too yet is you will need a new disc/drum proportion valve and mastercylinder/booster setup. Good luck on your conversion, easy as it gets imo.

I am located in Southern California, between San Diego & Los Angeles I have a wife, young kids and this is my work truck/daily driver. This economy is killing me, I am in construction and working double time to earn less than half is much. I need to go thru and replace some brake parts so if I'm gonna do a conversion nowz the time......
Chasing down parts and then spending a weekend under my truck......well my wife would not cope well as much as I've been gone, ya know the story.....
Any parts offered would be appreciated, but in new or good condition........remember I'm haul'in kids around in this truck
Thank you

Interested in doing a trade? I am off of the 15 outside of Victorville, it is probably an hour and a half to two hours from where you are but I have parts and am an ex-dealer wrench but my construction abilities are less than ideal due to muscle injuries. I have several projects including a fence that needs to get off the ground and up in the air and I can't do it alone. You could come up here for a couple of days in the truck and build a fence and I can send you back with disc brakes! Let me know if you might be interested in working something out, Hawkrod
