16.5" Tires...
Is it me or is nobody really making these anymore?
I'd like to keep my original wheels on the truck but I'd also like to not have scary old tires!
I noticed that Michelin doens't make them, which sucks becuase I LOVED the LTX/MS tires I've had in the past.
Soo... What do you all think? Buy 16" steel wheels that'll fit my F250's hubcaps?

Firestone still makes em in both highway and all terrain. I am running a set on my Crew.GSequoia wrote:Is it me or is nobody really making these anymore?

DBossMan,
How do you like the Firestones? Do you have the Highway or All Terrains. I'm in the same position as GSequoia. My Last truck had a great set of General's, but I guess they don't make a 16.5 anymore
Need an E rated tire for the upcoming Camper, and trailer.
Thanks,

Have you figured out what you are going to do yet? I looked at some 9.50 x16.5 D load rated Cooper radial tires that looked pretty decent from America's Tire Center. They are called "Dominators"... Uh, yeah, OK, whatever. Not sure about the stupid name, but the tires did have a somewhat agressive tread pattern that *looks* like it would be a better all season tire than the Firestone. The reviews I read said the Firestones hydroplane and push on the front.
Then I just saw this on the Dominators (not sure what that's all about

Here are the tires:

I'm very interested in what others are doing, as I've got to go down this road pretty soon, and would love to keep the stock hub caps.

Re: 16.5" Tires...
No, I haven't really given it much thought lately, I'm just flat broke.Happy_Camper wrote:Have you figured out what you are going to do yet?

I'm still torn at the moment between getting one of the few 16.5's left or finding an eight bolt 16" wheel that will accept my 1971 hubcaps and getting the tires I want, Michelin LTX/MS (Expensive tire but I got about 60,000 abused miles out of them in my Cherokee).
Money sucks. For now the truck just uses it's god knows how old tires. Yikes!

Re: 16.5" Tires...
I am using the highway's. No complaints. I think they look ok and seem to drive fine. I have only put about 6 or 7 thousand miles on them so I can't judge how long they will last.Happy_Camper wrote:DBossMan,

Re: 16.5" Tires...
I just switched to 15.5" rims on my 70 F100 and 16" rims on my F250. Les Schwab told me 16.5's are getting limited
