That's a pile of junk 2wd box and a cheez bracket to bolt it to the frame.

Don't waste your money (I can't believe they charge that much for that stuff).

Actually,

For a street poseur, it would probably be just fine. As for the price, look a the crowd it is marketed too. Finally, add up the prices of the parts you can see, add in some fab time (nothing goes together well the first time) and it really isn't a BAD price. Not good, but not bad.

Where is the crank pulley to drive it?

I don't have that kind of money to throw down on the truck right now anyhow, but I thought it may be a good option for someone who isn't going to lift they're truck sky high or beat on it in the woods. Mine works hard sometimes, but it's not an off roader. I also know that some people have used the 2wd box to convert. I'm having a hard time seeing how the box gets attached; do you just drill holes in the frame and slide the bracket in? I think I would still have it welded for strength...

average, why do you say the box is junk? Because it's a reman, or becasue they are weak?

I ran the 2wd gear with a 4" lift and 35" tires. I can see how it would be fine a street truck with 31" tires, but for me it was disappointing. The 2wd box did not have the power to turn 35" tires (which I don't consider that big) in even mild offroad situations. Head to head against stock power assist, power assist would turn the same tires in the same situation with two fingers on the wheel where the 2wd box would not turn the tires with not so small 200 pounds of me and both arms ripping the wheel.

The 2wd box also gets in the way of a supercool radiator if you want to run one. The 78-79 F-250 4x4 box fits nicer and has more power than the 2wd box.

I had RedHead Gear build my gear. It will turn my tires and locked diff without much thought. They re-valved it and did a few other things to help it out. But that is dang true about the rad issue. The 2x gear is a really tight fit.
