hey everyone,
as you can see from some of my past posts i've been haveing issues with brakes. I've gotton tired trying to fix them that i've started looking at swaping for front disk brakes. i have a friend who is willing to be giving me the whole set up from a 76 ford that he has but im curious. I've read the tech tutorial about the disk brake swap but i am still alittle confused. As i read it is the eastest swap if you just take the i beams and the whole front end basicly and change it. can anyone tell me any more information about this swap?

Re: hi
yes thats the easiest way to just drop them as a unit and put them right back in as a unit. you will also want the disc brake master cylinder from that truck or a new one for the donor truck. you will also want the rubber brake line holder brackets as well. possibly the pitman arm and all the steering linkages too.

Re: hi
the truck is missing its master cylinder and power booster what you mean steering linkage and everything. did you mean use the new one in my 67 and get a power booster on it too?

Re: hi
the dentsides from 75 and up i think it is or maybe its all of them have a smaller thickness of arm coming off of the spindles for the drag links and tie rods to bolt into. soits easier to reuse the linkages from the donor than to mess with trying to connect the old linkages to the newer thinner arms on the backs of the spindles. you can reuse your old bosster but need a disc brake master cylinder. drum and disc masters are different in pressures. oh and i forgot to tell you not to forget the porportioning valve.

Re: hi
ok everyone last night i went to work tryingto get the front end off my donor truck. Everything was going smoothly until the very end for some reason the passenger radius arm will come out and then slip back in.I got the drivers side off in a brezze but for some reason the passenger side is giving me a head ache. Even after an hour on that side for some reason it still wouldn't budge. I almost had it a couple times but then it would slip back in. I FOLLOWED the little tech turtorial to the t and still had trobules. I'm going back out either tonight to the donor or tomarrow to finish it, i will also be grabing the radiator support and hood supports tomarrow.
Also one other note i noticed the drivers side capiler is completely off and just hanging out, i planed on replace it but just making sure, is there anything i should look forward to with that.
