FordTruck,
although it was already posted a few pages back in this thread, it is a great truck and it wouldn't be easy to buy a solid truck and build it to those specs for that price. thanks for thinking of us Lowriders when you saw it!

Photo shopped with a satain black color.
I need more time to get it more detailed but this is the first time I see some color on my truck.

Brad,
the great thing about Swedes or flat colors to me is they give you the ability to retain some of that old school hotrod look. you know how you'll be driving through town and get all kind of thumbs ups and compliments with your old faded and mismatched colors panel to panel, well i feel people can relate to this, but when you drive the same truck, car rod or whatever with a flashy paint job by the same person all they see is $$. thats not to say you wont get thumbs up or good compliments on a flashy paint job cause i know you will, i'd just like to retain some of that old school "potential" look. not to mention some of the one stage flat colors are a small fraction of the price of base clears.

and if thing go the way i want them to im going to start bodywork after the first of the year.

yea the carnival red pearl is the one im looking at, but im really not sure just yet, i'd have to see a real sample right in front of me to know for sure.
i'd love to see this thread keep going but as big as it is and as much room it has to be consuming we should try to at least to keep it on topic for Keith.

Re: bumps with lowerd altitude!! (pics please)
Tinted suede is Bitchin'!
I'd originally planned on painting my truck in a FLAT version of the original AQUA metallic color, (very similar to the color in the Fodification banner at the top of the forum).
I checked out "Hot Rod Flatz", & found a color that looked cool, but then spoke to my buddy the painter about it. (He's a great street rod builder/fabricator/body & paint guy.)...He's painted several "tinted suede" show & street cars, & also drives a bright Orange Suede F100 as his shop truck every day in OREGON!
He said you don't necessarily have to buy a special paint. You can get the same result with the old "base coat/clear coat" method; first using the color of your choice, then putting a "flattening agent" in the clearcoat. (I believe he used PPG products...?) He did a test shoot for me by first shooting the color coat, then shooting one piece with the "flattened" sealer, then another without the flattening agent....The flat suede looked as cool as I thought it would...But in my case I was hypnotized by the gloss! ..In a moment of weakness, I strayed from my plan & decided to go "shiny"....
Anyway he also told me you could "dial in" the sheen you want, by using more, or less flattening agent!...Gloss, semi-gloss, semi-flat, satin, totally flat...it's up to you. His truck was painted several years ago & still looks great! He went with the almost totally flat sheen. As a NOTE, He warned that the flatter the color gets, the harder it can be to keep it from absorbing road GUNK!
