That's a notch cover on that dropped yellow truck.
Like td said some people cover the notch some leave it exposed to show of the suspension.
Here is a picture of mine.
Hey Marcelino! That is a truly amazing job you did on your truck.

The question that always comes to mind when I see vehicles that low: how do you actually drive it around town? Doesn't it have a hard time getting in driveways and over train tracks and so on? Or do those cylinders on the axles make the ride height dynamic?

Thanks Marcelino!

Hey Marz,
Love the work on your ride! WOW! I like the fuel door inside the bed...(But NOT on the bed floor!) That's clever!
I think I just discovered a problem with my truck. I put in a Urethane tank from a 77 4X4 in the back of the frame. Because of the frame Kick Up, I had LOTS of room. I Really thought I was clever!
We're getting ready to cut a fuel door into the side of the bed....& I laid it out UNDER THE BELT LINE (the bump) (of course)....But now I'm wondering if I'll have enough "Drop" between the elevation of the inlet & the tank?
I'm asking this, because I see you put the Door in pretty high (I know your truck is a LOT lower than mine).... I laid it out where the door CAN go...(due to trim, & the Belt line/Bump), & I'm crowding the bottom of the belt line as much as I can without looking dumb (or crowded).
I see your bed tin is all custom bent...NICE. I'd have to make a filler panel to do as you did. Isn't the outside of the bed (the quarter) very "shallow" up that high? will you be able to get the Fuel Nozzle in there?....Don't mean to second guess, I know you've worked on a lot more of these than I have...
Think I could have a bit of a problem here...I'm certainly NOT gonna put the door above the BUMP! But I bet that's the kind of elevation I need to keep from splashing gas all over the side of the truck.

& hey, on a slightly different subject, do you drag a lot in your truck?...(the GROUND that is). I've never had a bagged ride before & I'm wondering what to expect?
Again I know your truck is a lot lower than mine, but I saw your old pics, & looks like mine will sit similar to the way your old set-up did...? Ive had low cars efore, but never THIS LOW..... :hmm:

Thanks,
MIKE

Robroy,

The suspension on my truck is adjustable, all I do is press a button and my truck goes up to ride height 8" of the ground. The coil springs and leaf springs are replaced with air bags like the ones found on a big semi truck just smaller.

Mike,
I like how the gas filler came out on my truck but you are right the inside is to shallow
so what I did was bolt the sheet metal on the bed and drove my truck to the gas station to try it out and it sucked cause I had to hold the nozzel in a wierd way and it was spilling all over the place. I have some more ideas for a gas filler but that will get done later on in the build.
About draging I really have only done it twice but I don't really want to do it any more cause the body wears out and this just means more work and more money.

Yeah it has been awhile. Thanks for your comments. Everybody seems to love my wheels. I'm really happy with the way they turned out!
I love seeing peoples' reactions when I tell 'em they are Dodge spare rims....  8)

If my chrome center caps work out okay, I will post more pics.
