It's so refreshing to see others who are as passionate as I am about these unappreciated Bumpside trucks! I'd looked all over the internet to find others working on LOWERING the #$%@ out of these things, & came up pretty empty handed. I'd found pics of Marz incredible 68, along with a few others I ran into over time, but untill I joined the site & really began exploring, it looked like this site was mainly into RESTO type trucks.... Damn glad to meet you guys! (Not that there's anything wrong with stockers).
Here's a couple pics of my 68 Merc. Its currently working on it's bad attitude. [img][/Users/mikenieko/Desktop/1st%20mock-up.jpeg/img]%20It's%20gotta%20Mustang%20II%20front%20with%20bags%20&%20disks%20&%204%20link%20in%20back.%20%20I'e%20been%20afraid%20I'd%20gone%20too%20low%20with%20too%20big%20of%20tires%20(not%20for%20looks%20that%20is,%20but%20for%20hitting%20&%20rubbing.)....But%20I%20hesitate%20to%20even%20call%20the%20truck%20LOW%20after%20seeing%20you%20maniacs!!
It's wearing 5"x4.5" 20x10 & 18x8 Coy's (polished aluminum) C-5's....Looks like I coulda gone to 20's upfront & 22x10s in back (with only slightly bigger tubs). Wish I'd gotten deeper into the site earlier!
.....& yeah, Coy's are a real bargain (compared to lots of other wheels)...Mine ran $1550.00 delivered. It was a Portland Swap Meet Special (last year). I got "Sunny" tires....Not sure how good they are (they told me I'd be getting Hankooks, but showed up with these)...they said they were out of stock, but these were an upgrade...?
[img]/Users/mikenieko/Desktop/Paint 1.JPG[/img]
Body & Paint is going on now, then I'll mount up the cab & see exactly how it sits... Out of money after this stage, so Trim & Chrome will have to wait. Probably won't be on the road till spring.
Sorry to interrupt your thread with this Novel, just got my blood pumping!

Thanks for the "alley-oop" TD. Gotta figure out what I did wrong?... Grassy ass!
& No Pearl, it's not Guardsman Blue. My buddy & Ninja Bodyman Wade helped me find it. The "color" space on my VIN was blank...So we started matching chips but found no matching colors on the FORD truck chart. We were convinced it was factory paint, having completely torn the truck apart & finding it everywhere. Comparing virgin paint from protected areas inside we guessed that it was "Medium Aqua Metallic", A 68 MERCURY color. Later we researched the DSO with a Marti Report & confirmed it. The color cross-referenced to a Mustang color, but I forgot the name of it. We were just going to repair rust & dents & blend a little of the color, but it looked so bitchin' on a sample sheet that I decided to go for it & repaint it all! Don't know if I would have picked this color if it wasn't the factory color...but it's really growing on me now..(LIKE A FUNGUS!)

That chassis looks sick, its nice to see someone else take so much pride in somthing that dos'nt get seen, most I see people put tons of hours on body/interior and overlook detailing the chassis, keep it up.

Thanks Texrodder, trying not to be too anal, 'cuz I'm still gonna drive the @$%# out of it!
Hey, those lowered Broncos look pretty cool! I thought of taking a dentside Bronco, making it 2wd, & Slammin the snot out of it....Kind of like the Orange 76 dentside posted a few pages before in this thread.
:? Don't tell anybody, but I also wondered what a 66-77 Bronco would look like turned into a 2wd & dropped! :shh:
....I'll probably be banned from any FORD sites after that remark.

I will try and dig up the pics of my 78 I dropped back in the early 90's,it was by far the hardest but my favorite, next is a
gen 1 like the blue one shown earlier, and yes I get the normal why lower a bronco from the purist ,I tell them it gives me the opportunity to give narrow minded a&$ho!es somthing to bitch about.Post more pics everyone likes to see the progress
of builds.
Everyone keep the pics coming of the dropped bumps,I need the inspiration to put mine down for the winter and slam it.

HA!! Way to go Pearl! :D That's EXCATLY what I was envisioning!! I meant to ad in my original post that it'd probably be really bitchin' to slam a "Half Cab"!!
That's too crazy! I thought my forum membership would be revoked for that kind of "impure" thought!!!
Wouldn't that be a ball to drive (especially) in the summer, with the top off!?! I don't know how it is where you are, but Bronco projects seem to grow on trees here. (Expensive trees that is). I could see finding one with a messed up chassis, (but a good body) for a fair price & grinning all the way home!
Damn, I love the way you guys think!!! :hd:

And bring on the pics Texrodder!!

69NVF100,

BUMPS ONLY !!!

just kidding

i actually have a good friend that has a slick uni and is grabbing up every pic he can find for ideas/inspiration.
so i'll save this one and send it to him.

here's a pic of his uni and my bump together. if you look close you can still see a real door logo on the door.
we're going to do the suspension and drive train work first and have it laying in the weeds on some big rollers just
as you see it in the pic, door logo and all. it will look killer.
