Howdy all,
I've been "lurking" on this board, on and off, for the past couple of years. I'm very impressed by both the owner and the members on here. Lots of excellent information, and great comradery.
I haven't had a Ford Pickup in quite a few years. That changed tonight. I am the lucky purchaser of a 1 owner San Jose built, and S.F. Bay Area housed, '72 F250 Explorer Camper Special. It's rough around the edges, but workable. Included in the sale was the original window sticker, warranty card, Factory service manual set, etc.
The goal is to take care of the maintenance issues, and pick up a nice camper. Then enjoy it for a couple of years, while I finish the '66 Mustang project. When the Mustang is done, I'll go to work on this truck, bringing it back to original 1 or 2 driver condition.
My last Ford pickup was a "second owner" 1970 F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special, that I completely went through, and then got a case of the *stupids* and sold. Boy was that a mistake! It was original right down to the carburetor.
I'm totally stoked to have another one, and hopefully learned my lesson about selling.
I look foward to joining in on topics, learning from all you guys, helping where I can, and having fun making new friends.

Thanks for the welcome!
I pick the truck up today, so I'll have some better pictures this weekend. These are from the ad. They make it look better than it really is.
Body is straight, and trim is decent. It has an inexspensive repaint that has weathered poorly. I may take some polishing compound to see what I can bring back for now.
