Grew up with Fords, but my first bumpside
Hi,
Found this site recently and am glad to see all the great info it has to offer along with the fellowship everyone is enjoying. Had to join so I could have some fun too!
I grew up with Fords all around me, my Dad kept us in Fords and Mercs and Lincolns for years, still does. He currently owns a '63 Falcon Club Wagon, brought back from a near fatal wreck in '74. Sorry no pics at this time of the van, will work on that. I bought my '67 Flareside from him, fourth owner truck, Dad being the third. Man at church bought it used in 1969 with 12,000 miles on it and just now relinquished the keys at the age of 90, bad knees, couldn't push the clutch anymore.
Dad and I have gone through the mechanicals and freshened everything to make it roadworthy, redid the interior and paint also. I'm currently changing the points to electronic and hope to add PS in the near future, hate that Armstrong steering. Bed will need some attention soon too. Truck is a worker, no show stopper here but a good solid running tool. 352 with 3spd, dual exhaust (my addition, sounds good too) only 148,000 original miles. Lunar green was the original color but Dad changed it to a darker green more like Holly green.
I've been looking for production numbers to get an idea of how many LWB flaresides were made. Don't see many around so I figured it may be a rare find, but have noticed there are quite a few pics posted here of LWB flaresides. Guess it's not as rare as I thought, doesn't matter, love the truck.
It's a keeper and so is this site, keep up the great info and I'll try to chime in and help if I can!

Hey 67LWBflare
A big webfoot welcome to ya from the great Pacific Northwest !!!
Thanks for posting a pic of your truck on your very first post...
Nice lookin' flare ya got yerself... like the colors.
Yeah, I don't think long flares were very popular so not nearly as many remain... don't even see that many flares mostly styles for sure.
Hang around and get to know us...

Thanks for all the feedback, glad to see all the responses. I'll see if I can make the pics more user friendly in the future.
Figured I would list some of my other toys and projects as well....may not all be Fords but history is worth saving, we learn from it good or bad.
