Problems with carb
I have a 71 F250 with 360. When I start it, it doesn't want to keep running unless I press on the pedal for about a minute, then when I shift it goes straight into high idle. I know it isn't the tuning because it just started doing this after 3 months of continous driving. Any ideas? Thanks
Kane

re: Problems with carb
more information needed. What kind of carb is it? sounds like a choke issue. 71 should have a hot air choke unless converted.
Side oiler FE, see if you can catch me!!!

Sounds like a rich run condition, check your choke operation and float level

re: Problems with carb
You are going to have to get us more information. "original" could be an autolite or holley 2v.
That said, wes gave you the most possible causes. but to get much more specific we are going to have to know what we are working with.
Do this though.
remove the air cleaner top
press the accelerator pedal to the floor twice and let it up slowly.
(is the choke plate closed)
Start the truck (or have someone start the truck)
(is the choke plate still closed, but cracked about 1/4-3/8 inch?)
Warm the truck up
(is the choke plate open?)
Needless to say, keep yourself and clothing clear of moving parts....
