Straighten front bumper

Post by theogre5150 »

What is the best way to straighten a bumper? Mine is pulled out in the middle like it had a chain hooked to it. It is not a chrome bumper if this helps.

Send it to a bumper shop, it'll come back good as new.

hey ogre, I used a 14 pound sledge with repeated intense whippings until my bumper came into submission. My "poking up bend" was just right of pass side frame end due to being tapped in the extreme right corner lightly years ago. It had been "sprung" for decades. I tried a 4 pound hammer w/no luck but with serious whipping I was able to do it cold with no heat and no chains hooked to trees or anything like that. Didn't get my bump completely out but did for the most part. I could likely bondo and kinda blend it in now if I chose. It was close enough for me and I just hit it with some white rustoleum (painted white bumper). banjo.
