Quick question. Was there ever a factory 2 barrel carb spec for the 240/300 engine. Someone told me the other day that some Canadian trucks had a 2 barrel option on 240/300 from new. Is this right ?
If yes, what's the story with the intake manifold ? My intake supports the 1 barrel only, and I would LOVE to get that 2 barrel option if it exists.
Thanks

Ive never heard of any 2 bbl option from the factory. Either make an adapter for the single bbl intake for a 2 bbl carb, or get an Offenhauser or Clifford intake which is set up for 4 bbl carbs, and an adapter can by put on those which would mount a 2 bbl.
I run a 4v carb on my Offenhouser C series intake. The Offy C lets you choose 2 or 4v, but the offy dp is 4V only. Clifford makes intakes so you can pick a 2 or 4v. Also they have Single 4v intakes, dual 4v intakes, tripple duece, and tripple webber side draught.
Hey spart, I think that is a great idea, probably the most bullit proof efi ever. Did you get it into closed loop yet?
I also think it is useless to put a 2 bbl adapter on a stock manifold, if you do have a machinist hog it out down the throat maybe.
So, Jamie, is the C better than the DP for a common street truck? I have a DP and a dual Clifford, no plans for the clifford as yet.
Waiting on that cross flow head.
