brake booster unavailable ,what !! help

i own A 68 ford 1/2 ton 360 powerstearing and my booster has the solid shaft to brake petal about 7 3/4 in long. the booster they bring in has a shaft about 41/2 in shaft with a n threaded knuckle without the 3in ajustable extension HELP ,WHAT DO I DO FROM HERE :hmm:

I would have guessed that it would be included with the new booster. Since it's not, I suppose you're going to have to hit the boneyards and find one to swipe.

Is this the part you need...the one on the very end of this booster rod?

I had the same problem at NAPA, only got half the shaft. :D

my booster actually has a solid one piece non adjustable rod, but i can see that with that adjustable end the one they are trying to sell me will work thankyou for the picture, !!! mike :wink:

I got my New one at O'Reillys auto parts and it came complete for $70.00 and a $70.00 Core charge.

That's a heck of a core charge. NAPA wanted around $100 for the booster and $35 for the core.

But if you add the two together and compare, they're about the same, hmmm...

In case anyone is confused on how I worded the above:

I gave them up front $140.00 but after I brought the old one back they gave me $70.00 back so all in all it cost me only $70.00 Bucks
