I like Restore, on old engines I use it every oil change.

re: Suggest a good oil additive?
I looked at "Power Punch" website and can order from them. But I would like to find this product in Parts Store. Does anyone know if they sell it in Parts Stores in Georgia.

Hey Binder,
count me in for 1 quart, and if no one else wants any, I will take 2 or 3.
Thanks

I've always felt that if any of the "snake oil" additives were benificial the oil companies would already have them in their oil. One of the main things that our flat tappet cam engines need is a high zinc content oil. Diesel-rated oils such as Chevron Delo or Shell Rotella contain a lot of zinc. Other high zinc oils are Royal Purple, Red Line, Valvoline VR1 Racing oil, Amsoil, etc. Almost all of the conventional engine oils for todays cars have drastically reduced zinc levels because the zinc in the oil kills catalytic converters. Also, cars built today have roller cams and do not require the anti-wear properties of the zinc that our flat tappet cams need. Synthetic and semi-synthetic oils also do not contain enough zinc.
If you run good oil you don't need an aftermarket oil additive.

re: Suggest a good oil additive?
u r on the right track
i have gotten an extra 50k outta a shot engine with certain adds
it a matter of choice
ps and a matter of the issue your engine has
another afterthought--when u can see, hear and feel the difference--then said "snake oil" becomes a viable product and not just "snake oil"
