Body Mount Removal
How do you remove the body mounts? They seem pressed onto the frame. I dont want to ruin anything. Thanks for any help.

re: Body Mount Removal
the rubber mounts?? from the factory they were pushed intogether and turned but over time depending on where you live they have rusted together.
Living in nebraska ive seen them either rusted to the point where a sawzal was needed to remove them, or like the ones on my 72 a small pipe inside the bolt hole and a light tap with a hammer they came apart.
If its the ones metal ones on the cab i believe those are welded on.
The ones on my 67 were still nice and almost look new since the truck never saw winter time driving and sat under a awning. the 70's were trashed sinced the cab mounts were rusted on the cab and the jagged metal cut them all up.

Are you talking about the steel brackets under the front end of the cab?
Those are riveted onto the frame. To remove those you will either need to cut out the floor boards or remove the cab. Then use a grinder and grind off the heads of the rivets. Use a punch and drive the remainder of the rivet out of the frame. Use some good bolts and bolt the replacement onto the frame. It's major surgery to remove the brackets.
