Just a thought...
I tried searching for anything that might match with this thought, with no luck....
Has anyone tried to cut or graft an expedtion independant rear suspension onto a 2wd truck? Better ride, rear discs, plain cool? Same with the front?? To get a custom truck, more or less?
Just a thought? Dont know anything about the logistics of a task like this...

Seems like the hardest part might be getting the "sub-frame" mounted to hole the 3rd member and control arms?

Well it might require a whole new frame to be built, but I dont see why it couldnt be done. All one would need is a chassis table, mig/tig, the right material and $$$$.....right?
If I were to run into a pile of cash, I would do this, or give it my best college try, as they say. Just about anything is possible, it is just the results that you end up with that matter. (ie, how does it look, function, and is it safe?)

I know the purists dont like the thought at all, but this is supposed to be fun, and it was just a thought.

I think the mountaineers use the same suspension too. It would be pretty cool if that's what you really want. It looks tougher than Vette stuff for the most part too.
I'd find a wrecked one and just swap a bump body on top and try to clean the wiring up as best as possible.

IF.....I were to ever do this, I would want a custom frame from front to back, that way I could set my ride height and work from there...
