Post by 1971ford »

so im in a bit of a pickle lol

POR-15 recommends 70 deg. for applying there products. they say up to 80 is OK though. but..... its 108 deg. here. and im at the point in my project where i have stripped a bunch of stuff and can only move on body-wise by applying my por-15 so i can flip the cab/bed.

AHHHHHHHHHH MAN!!! :(

so im going to work on rebuilding my 360 this week but i need to get going on my body work. anyone have any thougts?

how bad will it effect it if i use it in such hot weather do you think?

maybe ill have to be nocturnal for a while?

:(

Ryan, you should be fine but will need to work quickly... the warmer things get the pot life of paint decreases...

What sayeth the rest of the jury?

the faster paints dry the less the stick. Not saying you'll have a problem, it may be ok. If you can wait til tomorrow give them a call and see what they say. Another thing is if your brushing it on, it probably wont lay out as nice as if it had the slower dry time.
What's the humidity like there??
Maybe you should wait til winter.

ok well im not going to put my por-15 stickage in jeopardy.

HMMMMM............. :(

id wait till winter but how am i suppose to let my 69 sit for so long and not work on it and besides its all down to metal so it would rust :(
and i am VERY determined to get it done this summer 8)

what if i applied it at 9:00 PM when its cooled off and worked at it throughout the night?

what do you think about that?

I don't think you'll really have any problem except for being real hot, there's no better light than daylight, and then there's the bugs that will be stuck everywhere. :(

durring day: too hot, light, no bugs, sleep at night, jeapordise stick...

i really dont want to jeopordise (arggggggghh i dont know how to spell that darn word) it sticking as well as it could be because i want this stuff to never flake/peel off.

i dont know what i will do :dk:

"WHAT TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY CAN I APPLY POR-15 IN ?
POR-15 should be applied in temperatures of 50-90oF degrees
(10-38oC) and humidity under 80%"

Doesn't say NOT to apply if it's 108* :dk:
