I-Beams, Drop Spindles

Post by Kiwi »

I have read and re-read as much info about lowering I-Beam suspension on many occasions and and would just like to get some clarification on a couple or three points. I have read the DJM beams are the go? have also read a couple of postings about AIMS customer service, and I have to agree it's crap :x I got one response to an initial contact with them and then when I tried to order they ignored my contact- great way to run a business.
My main concern is the discussion around camber problems using these aftermarket drop beams, and the fact that you can't bend them to get your camber set up.What are you guys that have used these Drop beams doing are you just putting up with it and how far out are they?. Keith made a posting quite awhile back suggesting he was going to use lowered springs and then re-bend his standard beams,I though that was a good idea so I did a bit of a calculation on this and came up with 3 degrees negative camber on a two inch lowering of springs, so that is approximately 1.5 degree for every inch of drop- so how much would you have too bend your beams to get your camber right-and how would this affect the rest of your suspension and steering geometry?? Lastly does anyone in the States or Canada make Drop Spindles for our old beasties.Would make things a lot easier.
Cheers Wayne

Just do a mustang II setup on your truck and avoid all these problems.
