Anyone seen this? I tried doing a search here, but didn't find anything. If this is designed for a truck seeing daily driver use I would buy it. I am not happy with my Ford power steering, but to use my truck like I want I need p/s to be able to park and manuever on my trip to & from work.
BTW, I will email Blue Oval, but will be out of town for a week or so, so may be awhile before I can post what I learn.

Under kits available, it does show 67-72 ford pickups. Let us know what you find out.

I could be wrong but rack and pinion steering will never work on ibeam trucks. A rack setup is only going to cause major bump steer. I'm curious to see what they do with this. The only rack I think will work is one that mounts the tie rods in the center of the rack instead of on the ends of the rack. Dose this make sense??

You are correct Marz,a center steer rack like from 90's era fwd GM's,grand-am type would seem to work lots better,Ive put them on 50'-early 60's full size Fairlane/Galaxy and had great success, seems like bumpsteer would kill the standard rack set up,but it still looks interesting, keep us informed on your research..marz68 wrote:I could be wrong but rack and pinion steering will never work on ibeam trucks. re: Rack and pinion kit from Blue Oval?
I was out of town last week, but had this waiting for me in my in box. I will paste my original email, with Blue Oval's response after.
Hi
I just noticed your 67-72 Ford truck Rack & pinion kit. What can you tell me about this kit? I have a 71 F100, 351W & automatic overdrive (column shift). I have Ford power steering and I'm not happy with it.
I am wanting to know:
Is it available now?
Durability/suitablity for a truck seeing daily use?
Tools & equipment required to install?
I have upgraded to disk brakes from a 79 F100, will this cause any issues with your R&P kit?
What is the correction for bump steer?
Thanks
Tim
Thank you for your interest. This kit should be ready for sale in 3-4 weeks after some additional testing is complete. The kit will be suitable for normal road driving, but it has not been tested for off road durability. The design is a bolt in design that utilizes tools most people would have in there garage. The disk brake spindles you now use will work fine with the kit. The twin I bean front end on these trucks does not create to much bump steer, but the kit will correct for some when it occures.
I am taking orders now for these kits if you are interested. Let me know.
Thanks,
Rob
