thanks for all the hello's and support.
I'm actually out of town this week for work, but when I get home I have a pile of replacement parts waiting for me (and it). It might take a while for the "look" to change, but it's gonna be mechanicaly sound!
I've been continplatin the tire dilema.....I'm leaning towards 235/70/15 w/1"whitewalls and 15x8 chrome wheels w/baby moons. wadda think? anybody know of a pict of a truck with something like this?

Welcome from California! Very nice truck indeed.

I'm not sure how the whitewalls will look on the chromies with moons - pretty old school though, if that's what you're after. Personally, I like that setup with just the blackwalls. I think the whitewalls would look better with body-color wheels and baby moons or dogdish caps, but thats just my :2cents:

I have 15x8 for the back of mine with 275/60 Uniroyals (roughly 11.2" wide). The front is 15x7 with 245/60. I also like the blackwall tires and I'm not much into even the white lettering. I'm not big on the white walls either unless the rig is older (late 50's to early 60's) and the rest of the build dictates the use of 'em but that's my two cents.

BTW, I will be lowering mine a few inches at all 4 corners as well which should change the look quite a bit (plus a sport bumper!). Take a look at some other photo galleries on this site and try www.tirerack.com for some actual dimensions. Just type in the tire size and click on the specs. It'll show you the overall diameter, tread width, wheel width range, etc.

Oh yeah, take a look at ezernut's ride. It's got chromies and baby moons on it and it looks sweet. No whites though. Ezer? You there? I'll grab some pics if he doesn't show up soon! :D

Thanks everybody, and hello back!

f100builder,
I really like your trucks look. I thought about doing that to mine, but it's to origional....maybe later. I'm going for the look of the 60's (back when I was young!) and keeping it mainly stock, just the wheels, exhaust, chrome spoke steering wheel, "foot" gas pedal, etc.. There was a guy in the little town I grew up in that had a turquoise 69 that I loved, but it had slotted mags. I think I'll give the smoothies and white walls a try, I can always turn them around if I don't like them

Hold on to or sell those hubcaps whatever you do! Just don't throw 'em away! :D
BTW, here's a link to a thread with ezer's ride in it. It's got some chromies and baby moons on it and looks way cool.
