Is there any differance between a '67 - '68 - '69 4-speed columns?
Summit Racing lists a differant Grant install kit for each year.
The one pictured below is a Grant 3249
(which is the one I was told I needed to install the Grant 823 Steering wheel on my '68 CS)
click on pic to enlarge...
It is listed to fit '69-'91 F-250 applications.
The photo clearly shows it is not the right one.
I am going to call them, but I wanted to get my facts right first...
I could see a differance between '67 & '68 since there are a lot of other little differances, but the '68 & '69 are the most similiar models.
I know in '70 or '71 they changed the wheel style, but the column is still the same isn't it ????
Thanks again,

re: '67-'68-'69 Steering column question ???
Thant looks like a 68 car adapter. In 68, the cars got a slightly larger diameter column but the trucks stayed the same from 1961 through 1977. The splines are the same but the column was slightly larger in diameter and the wheel stepped down into the column slightly. I would wager that the wheel manufacturer made their specs based on the cars and assumed trucks were the same. Order a kit for a 67 and it will fit all columns up to 77. The only other differences were two wire horn contacts used on 60's cars and 70's trucks with cruise but that does not affect you. Hawkrod

Hey Hawkrod,
Thanks... I was sure that all the columns were the same...
I'm not sure why they show three differant kits for '67,'68 & '69...
when they are all the same.
The the one I got was listed for '69 -'91 F-250 applications...
I'm gonna call them.
Thanks again,
KaptnKA S
