Steve, you might want to do a little checking at NAPA.There are oversize king pins available for twin I beams. :)

Already did that, and went through NAPA's book. Unfortunately, they have oversize kingpins for trucks up to 1972 model year only. I am using 78 model spindles and kingpins, so that won't work. (With DJM DreamBeams, the whole cause of the problem)

.010 is a lot on a king pin bore. The only other solution I know of is to have the axle bored out and sleeved back to original size.

I'm not familiar with DreamBeams or how much they cost but for my :2cents: I'd be very vocal with them on the subject of quality control. A poorly made glove box latch won't kill you but poorly made suspension parts can.

No, I called their tech line and they said to just stick them in there and they would be fine. Yeah...SURE...Next I would have egged out tubes to match the oversize they started with. Anyone who has assembled them and not checked that dimension should do a good thorough inspection to see how things are holding up. I am considering having the ID of the tubes chromed (like industrial coating type chrome) to get the size where it needs to be.

Last weekend I have started with the repairing of the I-beams. I thought that it would make sense to post some pictures to this thread.
I had to temporary “modifyâ€

Nice work!

That is a lot to go through to fix some old parts, but I would have done that same thing if I had those tools!
