Any-who, guy on Craigslist had a hose listed for $10, I figured what the heck, that's a good a place to start as any so I called him and we discussed when we'd be able to meet up. A few minutes later he called me back and offered to sell me all his welding equipment. Said he was retired and him and his wife were selling the house and he decided he wasn't going to need to weld anymore and if he could sell it it'd save him from moving it.
I got to his house and looked it all over, almost full oxy and acetylene tanks, Victor regulators, hoses, torches, and a Lincoln stick welder with rod and helmet. Didn't need the stick, already have one, but it was part of the deal so no sweat. And a big tool box of mostly new stuff. 4 extra gauges still in their packaging, bunch of welding and torch bits, welding goggles, extra torch, bunch of valves and fittings, strikers, wrenches, and I'm sure I'm forgetting things. Got it all for $250 which seemed pretty fair to me. Only thing he didn't have was a cart, he had the tanks mounted to his wall. So I cleaned up my old cart, painted it, put new wheels and axle on it and assembled it all today.
Tried it briefly this afternoon. Dang! I'm so rusty that I'm friggen' green, I'm going to have to learn all over again.

Maybe I should pick up a gas welding for dummies book.
