Motor Grease and Paint!!

Post by ford4x4fun »

When I get home, and start the body work on my truck, I am pulling the cab and the bed off of my truck again. My tranny is and transfer case are being repainted right now. I am getting rid of the tranny that is in it now, because it is a 2wd Tranny that was used for an emergency. While I am doing that I am going to repaint my motor. I was wondering what takes off the grease somewhat easily. And what is a good brand of paint to use. I want to paint if ford blue. Thanks for your time!!!

por-15 and dupli-color have ford blue's i believe. dont know how well they work, but i would think por-15's would be tough.
also brakecleaner and a rag remove grease wonderfully for me. my dad brough home some soapy water stuff thats in a jug that i hosed my intake with and it returned it from grease, to ford blue again.

Simple green works good as well cut 1 to 1. Apply and let it sit for about 10 mins. Also i invested in a 1550 psi power washer from HD at 69.00 can't beat it for the price.
